Repairing Sun Damaged Skin

Most visible signs of aging and hyperpigmentation is caused by the sun exposure.

Shielding yourself from the sun’s rays is one of the most critical things to do when it comes to protecting your skin. But aging isn’t just caused by exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays, alone.  Aging itself is inevitable. But stress, lack of sleep, or too much alcohol, can also be a contributing factor.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends limiting sun exposure “especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun’s rays are most intense,” covering up with clothing, hats, and sunglasses, and of course, sunscreen.

The key is to build a habit and commit to a daily home care regimen. When looking for a good regimen for anti-aging treatments for fine lines, rough texture, and hyperpigmentation, still remember to:

  • Avoiding peak sun hours

  • Covering up exposed skin by wearing hats, sunglasses, and the right clothes

  • Regularly use SPF Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen every day

To help to repair your skin from sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, we’d like to SPOTLIGHT a key ingredient in several of our Kanèi Skincare products to look for when selecting a home care regimen:

Niacinamide

A potent agent that helps to minimize sun spots, dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It also:

  • acts as an antioxidant

  • improves epidermal barrier function

  • decreases skin hyperpigmentation

  • reduces fine lines and wrinkles

  • decreases redness and blotchiness

  • decreases skin yellowing

  • improves skin elasticity

  • It helps by blocking the pigment from surfacing on the outer layer of skin

  • decrease pigment production.

Niacinamide is available in our Brightening Concentrate, Brightening Serum, Rejuvenating Serum and Clarifying Moisturizer, making it an easy addition to your daily skincare regimen.

Always check ingredients of new products to see if there are any ingredients that may cause photosensitivity. And ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS wear sunscreen!!
